The Moore Company, is a privately held family-owned business. The parent company of two wholly owned divisions that excel in the manufacture of performance fabrics. First established in 1909 with the founding of the George C. Moore Company, manufacturer of stretch and rigid narrow fabric (woven and knit), and Darlington Fabrics is a manufacturer of stretch and rigid wide warp knit fabric. There is a strong history of innovation, performance, and customer support to build upon.

Founded on the lasting premise of “providing continual innovation and support to our valued customers” the George C. Moore Company continually strives to offer the best narrow elastic value in the market. The combination of competitive pricing, excellent quality and on-time service has enabled us to be the preferred market leader for more than one hundred years.
Our US operation headquartered in Westerly, Rhode Island consists of Sales, Customer Service, Technical Support, Manufacturing Consultation, Engineering, Design, Research & Development, and Purchasing Functions. Also, we have established a network of contract manufacturers that produce uniquely designed and qualified narrow elastics and webbings that require US manufacture.
GEORGE C. MOORE OPERATIONS IN EL SALVADOR,
CENTRAL AMERICA
Beginning in 2006 we invested in a facility in Central America to stay close to our customers in the region. Conformed by a workforce with the technical expertise to make sure that our customers get the right elastic for the right job. And if we do not have the elastic you need, we can sit down and design it for you.
Located in American Park Free Zone, in close proximity to San Salvador, our facility is a vertical weaving and knitting operation with dedicated Design and Quality Assurance departments. Our facility has the capability to manufacture elastics or webbings from ¼” up to 12” wide. We also have in-house dyeing & finishing, rotary printing, cutting & sewing, performance finishes and customized packaging, all offered to support our customer requirements.

SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY
We believe in giving back, supporting, and helping improve the overall quality of life of our employees and of Salvadorans that live in surrounding communities. Initiatives include our participation in yearly activities as “Plant a tree campaign”, sponsorship, and participation in the “I run with the heart race”, blood donation to the Salvadoran Red Cross Bank. We have also worked closely with various humanitarian organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, among others.
We know that social responsibility begins inside the company, meeting or exceeding all compliance standards. The company continually invests in:

Sustainability is part of everything we do at George C. Moore and we want to share with you five areas through which we make sure our sustainability goals are accomplished:
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
In the recent past we have reduced our energy consumption by 35% in our heating and cooling system.
40% reduction in energy consumption in lighting within our manufacturing environment.
33% reduction in energy consumption due to equipment efficiency upgrades.
Fuel oil consumption reduction of 22% (ratio of fuel gallons / produced yards).
RECYCLING MATERIALS FROM THE PRODUCTION PROCESS
Packaging in 2020: we reused 33% of our wooden pallets, 15% of our corrugated cardboard boxes, and 100% of our plastic bags for goods in process.
WATER STEWARDSHIP
In the recent past we have reduced our water usage ratio by 44% (Total water usage in liters / Total yards produced).
Optimization of water use in our cleaning process during production. 100% of the water we release meets or exceeds all compliance requirements.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
DART rate for 2020 (Days away, restricted or transferred per 100 employees): less than 1.
GCM Code of Conduct: compliance and continuous training.

- Subsidized daily meals, food co-op program and uniforms for employees.
- Annual school supply kits for employee’s children.
- Insurance for all personnel.
Preventive measures for avoiding the spread of COVID -19: Staff private transportation (2020 – 2021), provide personal protective equipment necessary to carry out disinfection and cleaning activities, continuous disinfection of common-use surfaces, adjustment of work areas and cafeteria with divisions to reinforce the distance between collaborators, installation of special devices to open doors without hand contact, use of face mask, temperature measurement, footwear disinfection, installation of additional disinfection stations with alcohol gel, soap and water to wash hands frequently.
