SAN SALVADOR – February 5, 2015 – One of the ways the narrow elastic manufacturer lives up to its values is throughout the volunteer program they initiated four years ago in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity. In four years, employees have helped build housing for fifteen families in five different communities located in Ahuachapán, Santa Ana, La Libertad and Sonsonate (El Salvador). Besides financial support and volunteering, they have also benefited more than 300 children with values-based activities in each of the communities that they have supported throughout the years. Based on their commitment to their program each year, George C. Moore was awarded the 2014 Building Solidarity Award by Habitat for Humanity El Salvador.
“We were very interested in finding new ways to give back to our community and we decided to explore volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. It turned out to be an opportunity not just to improve housing conditions for many families but, unexpectedly, a way to strengthen our leadership, communication and teamwork skills” said Andy Dreher, Division President.Back
